Cokin has new owner

Japan’s Kenko Tokina has acquired Cokin, the manufacturer of Cokin filters. Cokin had been having some financial difficulties recently, so the purchase should improve matters considerably.

Cokin’s Canadian importer, Webbsight Imaging Peripherals, says Cokin will operate under the new name Cokin France SAS. Operations will remain based in France, says Webbsight’s president, Glenn Webb, and there will be no change to Webbsight as the Canadian source for Cokin.

Apparently a new Cokin websight is in production, and new Cokin filter stock should be hitting Canadian retail shelves shortly, says Webbsight.
