DayMen buys JOBY

GorillaPods by JOBY

The DayMen Group is buying JOBY. Both companies are headquartered in California. JOBY is perhaps best known for its GorillaPod flexible tripods.

So what’s the Canadian connection?

DayMen was founded in Canada in 1981 by two characters – Ed Dayholos and Uwe Mummenhoff – and has grown from strength to strength over the years. The company owns Lowepro, the camera bag maker, and distributes other high-quality brands.

Today, DayMen is owned by the private equity firm Brockway Moran & Partners but still has a solid Canadian foundation in DayMen Canada.

DayMen has been distributing JOBY in Canada since 2007 and Australia since 2008.
