Panasonic upgrades lens firmware

Panasonic is upgrading the firmware of four of its Lumix G Series interchangeable lenses to HD. The update will improve tracking focus in video recording while providing silent autofocus and exposure control, and will enhance stability of O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer).

The 1.1 firmware will be available mid-October in the “Support” section at Panasonic.ca (http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/).

This update will enhance the following four Lumix G Series lenses:

• 14 mm f/2.5 ASPH.

• Vario 14-42 mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. / MEGA O.I.S.

• Fisheye 8 mm f/3.5

• Vario 100-300 mm f/4.0-5.6 / MEGA O.I.S.

These lenses join three previously upgraded G Series lenses:

• Vario 7-14 mm f/4.0 ASPH.

• Vario 14-45 mm f/F3.5-5.6 ASPH. / MEGA O.I.S.

• Vario 45-200 mm f/4.0-5.6 / MEGA O.I.S.
