Heliopan filters now in Nadel’s hands

Nadel Enterprises has become the Canadian distributor of Heliopan filters and photo accessories.

The German-made filters use high quality glass sourced from Schott, and all their filters use brass rings.

There are two grades of filters: Digital Multi-Coated (DMC) and Premium Multi-Coated (PMC). Both offer a wide variety of filter types and sizes.

The newest addition to the line is the continuously-variable, 6-stop ND filter.

DMC filters are sealed on each side with multiple-layers of scratch-proof, anti-reflective, metallic-oxide coatings, which also further harden and protect the glass. Reflections and flare are reduced to below 1 percent due to the special coatings, as well as to the matte-black finish of the filter ring.

PMC filters are sealed on each side with 8-layers of anti-reflective and hardness coatings. Reflections and flare are reduced to a low 0.2 percent with these coatings, plus contrast is improved. The last coating on each side of PMC filters adds dust and moisture-repellent properties. The result, says Nadel, is the world’s only 16-layer premium multi-coated filter that naturally repels dirt, transmits 99.8 percent of light entering it, resists impacts to glass surfaces as well as to the metal outer-ring, plus is extremely easy to clean.
