TIPA is an independent, non-profit organization comprising the chief editors and technical editors of 29 leading photo and imaging magazines in 14 countries, most of them in Europe.
This year’s winners in various categories were decided from all new photo and imaging products introduced to the market from April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012.
Similarly, the Pentax K-01 interchangeable lens digital camera, designed by world-renowned industrial designer Marc Newson and launched in March 2012, has been selected a Product Design 2012 winner at the Red Dot Design Award in Germany.
Each year, products launched on the market over the previous two years are judged by nine different criteria, including degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability and ecological compatibility. This year, the K-01 was selected from 4,515 applications submitted from 58 countries as one of the Product Design winners.
