ISO 25,000!

This is a superb shot. It’s one of those “jeez, I wish I’d shot that” photos we all dream of taking.

What makes this really extraordinary is that it was shot handheld, through the open door of a helicopter, 5,000 feet high.

It’s Manhattan taken after Sandy knocked power out to it and caused extensive flooding.

To be able to shoot this, photographer Iwan Baan had to crank his Canon 1DX up to ISO 25,000. That’s some processor in that camera!
