Amazon’s cloud photo storage now “free”

amazon primeAmazon says Canadians can now use the company’s Prime Photos service for free . . . if you are a Prime subscriber . . . and store as many photos as you’d like.

Prime subscribers in the US and UK have been able to do this since last November.

The service lets you upload photos to the cloud from a desktop PC (both flavours) as well as iOS and Android devices, along with Amazon’s Fire tablets.

The service lets you access your photos from your handheld devices.

Prime Photos requires an Amazon Prime, Amazon Family, or Amazon Student membership.

After a free 30-day trial, Amazon Prime costs $79 per year.
