Sony updates a7R II with uncompressed 14-Bit RAW

sony a7 IISony will release a firmware update on October 19 that adds uncompressed 14-Bit RAW image capture to the alpha 7R II full frame interchangeable lens camera.

With firmware version 2.0, uncompressed RAW capture will become a selectable feature (uncompressed/compressed RAW) within the menu system for updated cameras. The firmware also adds the ability for the a7R II to output video via HDMI during use of the Remote Camera Control software, that enables remote capture from a connected computer.

A month ago, Sony said user selectable compressed and uncompressed 14-Bit RAW image capture would be featured in the alpha 7S II when it arrived in October, and would also be available on additional cameras, beginning with the a7R II full-frame mirrorless model.
