It was rumoured, then Nikon supported those rumours with an official announcement in November that it was, indeed, working on the top-of-the-line, pro DSLR, the D5, but wouldn’t tell us when it would be unveiled, which lead to further rumours and speculation about when the D5 would appear. This is a Photokina year, so it would make sense for it to be released prior to or during that September event. But no, it was announced at the giant Consumer Electronics Show, which has to say something about the place of imaging in the scheme of things . . .
But here it is, with 20.8-megapixel CMOS sensor, an all-new 153-point AF system, 4K UHD video capture, EXPEED 5 image processing, and an ISO that tops out at a mind-blowing 3.2 million!
