Go here now and download the Nik software collection. It’s free. Even better, it’s great photo editing software.
What you’re downloading are seven plug-ins for Photoshop, Elements, Lightroom, and Aperture, both Windows and Mac platforms.
Don’t use any of those programs? The plug-ins will work as standalone programs, although you will need to work with a copy of the picture as editing is destructive (cannot ‘save as’) in this mode.
And did we mention the collection is free?
The Nik Collection is Analog Efex Pro, Color Efex Pro, Silver Efex Pro, Viveza, HDR Efex Pro, Sharpener Pro, and Dfine. These range from filter applications that improve colour correction, to retouching and creative effects, to image sharpening that brings out all the hidden details, to the ability to make adjustments to the colour and tonality of images.
By the way, if you purchased the Nik Collection in 2016, you will receive a full refund.
Thank you, Google, owner of the collection.
Here’s what you need to run the software:
• Mac: Mac OS X 10.7.5 through 10.10; Photoshop CS4 (CS5 for HDR Efex Pro 2) through CC 2015; Photoshop Elements 9 through 13 (apart from HDR Efex Pro 2, which is not compatible with Photoshop Elements); Photoshop Lightroom 3 through 6/CC; Apple Aperture 3.1 or later.
• Windows: Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8; Photoshop CS4 through CC 2015; Photoshop Elements 9 through 13 (apart from HDR Efex Pro 2, which is not compatible with Photoshop Elements); Photoshop Lightroom 3 through 6/CC.
