Samyang has two new autofocus lenses – 14 mm f/2.8 and 50 mm f/1.4 – for Sony E mount mirrorless cameras with full frame sensor size. The company says the lenses are the widest and brightest lenses in their class and deliver superb quality images.
Both lenses have a 67 mm filter diameter. The 14 mm lens is claimed to be the widest angle available in the market and the f/1.4 aperture of the 50 mm lens and f/2.8 aperture of the 14 mm lens are said to be the brightest of full-frame mirrorless lenses, delivering beautiful bokeh.
Aspherical lenses have been included in both lenses to minimize aberration and unnecessary light dispersion, delivering high resolution from the centre to the corners of the image, Samyang says.
These two lenses are the first autofocus lenses from the company. The new lenses are said to be compatible with both phase detect and contrast detect sensors, delivering fast and accurate focus detection.
The lenses are scheduled to be available in July 2016.
