The folks at Calgary-based Athentech have sent out teasers about an upgrade to the next version of Perfectly Clear Complete, due out in beta by the end of the year.
The company is adding what it calls LOOKs, based on Lookup Tables (LUTs). According to Athentech, these make it possible to simulate the properties of film stocks, create stylized colour palettes, or even unlock black and white workflows. The company says it has been working with top photographers and designers to add one-click styles and film stocks to the software, with your own tweaks possible.
With Version 3, notes Athentech, it will offer an expandable library of professionally designed image styles. These will offer LOOKs designed for landscape, commercial, street, portrait, and wedding photography. The company also plans to roll out bonus LOOKs and have extra bundles available for purchase from some its top users and photographers around the world.
Apparently applying a LOOK is easy, and each works independent of corrections. This means you can use Perfectly Clear Complete to get the right colour and exposure for your image, then apply a style or LOOK easily.
If you need to tweak the LOOK, you’ll find a strength slider (0 – 200 percent) for quick refinement.
The company says it expects Perfectly Clear Complete Version 3 will work with Photoshop CS6 and newer, Lightroom 5 and newer, and Photoshop Elements 11 and newer.
